When to Seek Medical Care for Hip Pain
Dr. Nwachukwu weighs in on the following question: “What are some conditions that should make you want to seek out a hip preservation specialist?”
Here are the answers:
- 1. When you have been having pain in the hip associated with sitting for 30 minutes or more. This can often mean you have a tear in the labrum or some other problem inside of the hip joint.
- 2. Similarly, if you have problems sleeping on one side of the hip versus the other, that may mean you have something along the lines of an abductor tear or trochanteric pain which will warrant an assessment.
- 3. If at any point you feel a pop or a snap in the hip, that is also a concerning symptom that will warrant a visit.
