New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery added orthopedic surgeon Benedict Nwachukwu, MD, to its staff on Sept. 9.

Dr. Nwachukwu specializes in hip, knee and shoulder surgery. He is co-director of clinical research for the sports medicine institute at HSS and a Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, also in New York City.

He graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at HSS.

Dr. Nwachukwu completed a sports medicine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he served as a team physician for the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox.
