Gluteus Medius Tear | Gluteus Minimus Tear | Orthopedic Hip Surgery New York

The outer buttocks consist of two gluteal muscles known as the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. These broad, thick muscles work together to ensure the hips are level and to help maintain balance and lower body control. When these muscles are injured or become weak, the result is an abnormal gait, gluteus medius pain, and lower back pain. Dr. Benedict Nwachukwu is a highly trained orthopedic hip specialist who is experienced at both diagnosing and treating gluteus medius and gluteus minimus tears.
